Honors Graduate Faces a Harsh Reality

Graduating with a distinctive GPA and a scientific degree in Mechanical engineering makes no difference amidst the deteriorating financial and economic situation in Lebanon.

Jad El Ghareeb, 23 year-old graduate from LAU, expresses how he is passing through the hardest stage in his life after finishing university for over a year while still being unemployed.

“It is like you invested so much in your education: time, money, constant effort to succeed… all for nothing,” says Jad about his current mental state.

Not only is Jad being prevented from catching opportunities locally, he blames the dollar situation with banks in Lebanon from preventing him to catch opportunities abroad.
